Boat Builder's Demonstration
OFFERED: June 18 — October 3, 2010
Friday - Tuesday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The guideboat was first designed and developed in the Adirondacks. These light-weight elegant boats are still built by skilled craftsmen and women. Talk with Allison Warner, the museum's boatbuilder-in-residence and watch as spruce ribs are formed and wafer-thin planking is tacked in place. The guideboat maker's shop is in the exhibit Boats and Boating in the Adirondacks.
